In short: Great race - Definitely worth a place in any runners Spring Marathon training schedule. In full: First time running at this event - definitely back for more next year. A nice mix of club and casual runners, all made to feel welcome. Although two races run simultaneously (10 & 20 miles) the start is well organised with time banners for both races to line up to - thus reducing congestion. Excellent, supportive marshalls and lots of them, throughout the entire route (thank you to them, both for the support and encouragement and for standing out in the cold for so long on a sunday morning!) Lots of water stations - a big thank you particularly to the Army cadets at the 5/15 mile station for the 'singing' encouragement - well done to you). A fairly flat course with just a couple of inclines at the 6/12 & 8/18 mile marks - but on largely traffic free country lanes. Nice scenic course. All in all - I would thoroughly recommend this race. Well organised, well supported, great marshall's and local support - the only thing missing is a nice warm shower at the finish!! ( but I guess you can't have it all!!) Thank you Reading Roadrunners and all connected with the organisation of this great race. See you in 2013. Date of review: February 14, 2012

In short: The usual excellent organisation form RR In full: Did the 10 this year, having done the 20 three times before, and with no spring marathon this year. As always, it was very well organised. Not sure about those saying it's pancake flat though! It's not a hilly course by any means, and is reasonably fast but there are a few inclines, including a longish one between 6 and 7 miles that add up to about 250 ft on the 10 and nearly 500 over the 20. Very good prize pot for those of us lucky enough to sneak into it, but the best thing by far was the top VFM tea and cake stall in the schoolhall afterwards! Date of review: February 14, 2012

In short: Will def be back to run this again In full: Got to the start area a tad late. The race village was rammed at the start and everything seemed a bit chaotic (possibly because I was in a rush). Missed a pre-race trip to the lavi because of a queue that wasn't moving. The race got going though and I didn't encounter anything negative from that point onwards - the marshalls were the brilliant, the water stations were frequent, it was well supported, there was a good quality field of runners ... all in all, perfect marathon press. In short: A good race made great by the marshalls In full: This is how to do it. Excellent facilities, with seperate storage for the 10 and 20 mile runs. The course is flat and fast. The highest praise goes to the marshalls - they were fantastic. Lots of cheery faces and words of encouragement despite hours standing in the cold.

In short: First time at a Reading Road Runners event and will be back for more In full: Loads of really positive parts to this race, in particular the marshals around the course. Numbers more than expected, very supportive and willing to give up their Sunday to stand out in the cold. Big cheers to them all!
The only suggestions for next year would be to increase the loos for the blokes, and be aware that for some runners it will be the furthest they have ever run. I can run <1 hour for a 10k, so my aim on 20 miles was < 3hr 30 mins. This put me just inside the time for when the school closed (after getting goody bag and collecting my clothing bag).
In conclusion though, a good positive experience and I hope to be back again next year. Date of review: February 13, 2012

In short: Third time I have done the race. Great marathon prep. Good quality field. I was in a group going thru 10m in 1,02. Even when I was dropped I still had people around. Organisation first rate as usual. Date of review: February 13, 2012

In short: Well organised and enjoyable In full: Impressed they managed to put this on with the icy weather, but organisation all round was top notch. I did the 20, two mildly undulating laps of 10 miles. Definitely consider this a quick course. Date of review: February 13, 2012
