In short: Challenging but friendly In full: Enjoyed this run, not as hilly as expected, though the long one from 5.5 to 7 was a tough one to recover from.
Nice friendly crowd and well marshalled, though would have been nice to have received a goody bag, rather than just a medal at that price.
One gripe I had was the lady marshall at the finish who was handing out medals. I thanked her for the medal and asked her where the water was and she answered "chip first, then water" - flippin cheek! Date of review: January 24, 2011
In short: NIce race, could be organised better In full: Nice undulating course along very quiet country lanes, really impressed at how little traffic there was. Whilst the course was undulating there were no really tough hills, so enjoyable.
The organisation at the start however was very poor, runners brought to the start late and as it starts at the crest of a hill, all the slower runners want to be near the front, and the route quickly goes onto a pavement so it is very congested. Also what is the point of chip timing if only takes your finish time and does not register when you cross the start line?! Marshalling was excellent Date of review: January 23, 2011
In short: Well organised, friendly & hilly! In full: Really enjoyed this event - my first 10 miler! Wasn't expecting the hills & they were hard and seemed never ending! Date of review: January 31, 2010
In short: Enjoyed the new course. In full: Starting on the path felt unsafe with so many other runners around. Organisation seemed good and the marshals were excellent. Date of review: January 25, 2010
In short: Excellent event, will look to come back next year. In full: Second time I've attended this one and I think the race route was better and more scenic this year. Very enjoyable and the marshalling was excellent. Date of review: January 25, 2010
In short: Very supportive marshalls and a varied course. In full: This is a very well organised race with excellent facilities . The course was much more challeging than previous years but was much more scenic. Date of review: January 25, 2010
