In short: Very hard on feet when course dry, hills long and sustained!

In short: Good race, could be great...
In full: This is the second year I've run this race and am happy to say that the organisation was better than last year. That's not to say that this year was seamless; there were half a dozen places that needed to be waymarked better and at least another couple of marshals at tricky points along the route would have been appreciated.
Other than these somewhat minor gripes this is a great race that deserves more attention. This race will definitely be in my race calendar again next year.

In short: Just do it!
In full: Great race as ever - excellent organisation, great course, super marshalls (needed one or two more at one point). Perfect running conditions on the day too.

In short: Them hills be silly but it's a great event
In full: u know it's all gone slightly weird when people are hang gliding beneath you. this should perhaps be renamed the Humpty Dumpty marathon as you never stop going up and then down, and you will feel in pieces as u see the hills confronting you at the 18 mile mark. This was my first mara and thought it was a cracker - great views, well organised, a nice mix of runners and the volunteers did a superb job (why Rich Tea biscuits tho??). will definitely do it again but, ahem, will look for a flatter, more normal marathon in the meantime.

In short: Very welcoming, very challenging, very scenic, very satisfying
In full: An excellent race - very challenging route, but what spectatcular views from the top of the South Downs out across England. Tough but very satisfying to complete.

In short: South Downs splendour makes up for the toughness of the course
In full: I've run the full marathon four times now - lack of miles in legs restricted me to running the half marathon this time around - still a very tough but very enjoyable run - very friendly event - cakes at the finish much appreciated.

In short: female toilets were quite a way from the start and there were only 2! this was the only negative, very well organised.

In short: Excellent trail/path run
In full: Did the Half and thoroughly enjoyed it. Tough and hilly with magnificent views. Friendly water stations with cake at the halfway point and end!!
