In short: Well-organised race. Undulating, but not really hilly. In full: Most of 'ups' are in the first 9 miles or so, then mostly downhill or flat. Negative split likely. A couple of the downhill sections are quite steep in latter stages, so challenging in their own way. Very little traffic (mostly quiet country lanes) apart from one short stretch on a main road.
Useful-looking water bottle/waist-carrier as 'freebie'. Brass-band carols and group warm-up were nice touches. Date of review: January 15, 2007
In short: The down hills play havoc with yer knees In full: UPHills not as bad as i was led to believe by fellow runners prior to the race (Bit of Psychological warfare me thinks). However the downhills played havoc with my knees. Bit Windy in places but managed PB . overall a very good and challenging race . Date of review: January 15, 2007
In short: A good half marathon over a challenging course. In full: This is a good race which is run over what I would describe as a challenging route. The route undulates ever upwards to 9 miles and the decends very quickly. Good atmosphere and a good bum bag as a momento, a banana or cereal bar at the end would have been nice.
