In short: Excellent fast race In full: This was a really good run although I didnt manage to beat my time from last year. Was good to see all the elite runners cheering everyone else one. Defiantely worth the trip over to do this run!! Date of review: February 19, 2006
In short: a little harder for those runners that followed the course. In full: a very enjoyable race, but truly disappointed to see so many fellow runners cheating me and themselves by cutting every corner possible, particulary the big second to last left hander. i had runners making up 20 to 30 metres on that one corner. well at least they got a pb hey!!!! In short: A good 5 mile race to dust cob webs off! Crowded start but still managed a PB In full: If you want a really good PB and your a half decent runner you need to start at front as it is a little crowded at first. I was happy with my time which was a PB as had a cold and shouldnt have run but pushed myself to the end. Would do it again next year. Good for all abilities and a nice distance. Not bad scenery although would have been nice of the stationery traffic on high street to switch off their engines to avoid car fumes! Date of review: February 7, 2006
In short: Great fast five miler In full: finally got to do a 5 miler so a pb was always gonna be. Nice sized field making the start run smoothly enough. decent route with some crowd support and a t-shirt at the end. no medal though but was happy to receive one of the random goodie bags of an asics towel. well worth doin if you are after a good fast 5 miler... In short: A fast course and a strong field - built for speed! In full: A few glitches shouldn't detract from a fine race. Better signing at the leisure centre (hard to find the toilets); better placement of the mile markers (it wasn't just me that missed 3 and got to 4 unexpectedly early was it?!) and organisation would be perfect. A quick field might leave beginners feeling overwhelmed but that doesn't mean that those at the back weren't welcomed to the finish.
Looking forward to another bash at this one next year. And a big thank you to the female Cheadle runner that gave me a tow over the last mile - wouldn't have got under 33 minutes without you! Date of review: February 6, 2006
