In short: Fast race but not exciting. In full: I only do this race because its a local one. There are plenty more scenic races in the country. The start was a bit dodgy this time round (consetina (not sure how to spell) effect at the beginning and no build up worth mentioning) and the ending was just awful (a couple of netball hoops and some stripy tape). But if you are after a fast course then this should be a contender. The route os particularly flat but watch out for the cars otherwise you will also be flat!
Having said all that... i will still enter next year because its local. Date of review: March 28, 2008

In short: Great as a beginners race or one for a PB - fairly flat course. In full: This one was my first competitive race and a great one to get off the mark, course very flat, well organised and good atmosphere. One for next years diary. Date of review: March 1, 2008

In short: Fast course - everything else average In full: I ran a lot quicker than I thought I would although my actual race time does not match the time on my watch. That is because of the start. Where is the start line? When did the race actually start? Took me 30 seconds at least to get to what I think was the start. I enjoyed the race but the scenerey is nothing spectacular. Most of the race is along a main road with houses. Weather was cold and windy but that didnt bother me. I'll definitely do it again, but as one reviewer stated, I don't see why it is so popular. Support from locals was almost non-existent. Thanks Matt & co for coming to watch. Date of review: February 9, 2008

In short: Chaotic start! In full: OK, on the upside, it's a fast course. But 1000 runners setting off down a side street caused inevitable falls. No chip timing means people are pushing to the front adding to the problems. The toilet facilities were v poor too. The course is good and flat and on a calmer day would offer a PB. Can't really see why it's so popular. Date of review: February 7, 2008

In short: Flat course, good atmosphere, welcoming In full: Nice flat course, good atmosphere, lots of club runners but also welcoming for novices. Yes, there were queues for the ladies, no, I didn't hear the start either, but this is a great event and another step towards the FLM for me... Date of review: February 5, 2008

In short: Great flat race. In full: Was a bit windy and cold this year. No real hassles except that the start was a bit "flat" - no real hype, didnt even know we had started until the hordes started to move forward. Great race t-shirt and good bargins on sale afterwards. Shower facilites also good. Werent that many spectators this year either, but maybe that because it was so cold. Date of review: February 4, 2008

In short: Well organised, great flat race. Shame about the ladies' toilets. In full: No complaints about the race itself; although I didn't hear the start announced, it wasn't a problem - if everyone else starts running, you do too! Nicely designed t-shirt, and a good flat course. A wee bit windy this year, but at least it didn't snow. The only let-down was the fact that the only ladies' loo I could find before the start was a *single* cubicle, with a queue of about 30 ladies! I did discover after the race that there were other toilets, but they need better signposting. Parking was not a problem if you got there in plenty of time. Date of review: February 4, 2008
