In short: I liked this so much I aim to make it a regular. Well organised, friendly, attractive scenary, and a good mix of people. The post race food, drink and activites made it a good social run too Date of review: August 4, 2010

In short: Exceptional In full: A very attractive route, and the atmosphere is great. The organisers had everything spot on and seemed as though they were enjoying the day too. Having read previous comments about the hill at the end, I was ready for that, and it didn't seem too bad. I did struggle a bit with the section immediately before that where you are on a winding gravel path along the side of a lake. Overall, I was pleased with my time though, so it's not a slow course. In short: Very difficult to fault In full: I was mightily impressed with this race. I've not seen any nine mile races elsewhere, so this was a guaranteed PB. It was well marshaled, the venue was excellent (beer! barbecue!) the route scenic and the atmosphere outstanding.
If I were determined to pick fault, I might mention that they nicked their PA system from Hampton-in-Arden station: "Special announcement for all passengerzzz, mwibble mwibble flrrrr," (they didn't say that, I'm just making the point that you couldn't really hear it).
Overall, a super day. Will definitely be back next year. Date of review: June 21, 2010
