In short: Fab Inaugural event in the Forest of Dean
In full: First autumn event for these guys and all in all the organisation was very good, enough toilets, chip timed which is unusual for a trail race, well manned water station and smiley marshals.

Course was all on large hard packed trails. I didn't think it was too hilly, all perfectly runnable. Lovely section round mallards pike in the second half.

Nice medal, big bottle of lucozade and water at the end and a prize of a technical Tee for coming 4th lady, smiles all round!!

Will definitely consider it again next year, shame their spring event coincides with SD20 which is a mustdo on my Spring marathon training plan.

In full: This race has everything, hills, descents, slopes, mud, scenery, fantastic and enthusastic marshals. Will be back again to a future race.

In short: Hard work but fun
In full: Nice run - makes a difference from pounding the roads. I found the course hard though. Mile and a half straight down hill followed by the next 4 miles or so back up according to my Garmin. Would like to try it again knowing what was in-store.

In short: great race in a lovely location
In full: Race was well organised and located in a lovely location. Great forest tracks and makes a great change from road half marathons. Nice to enter a half marathon that has great atmosphere but still felt like quite a small homely event. Even managed a PB even with having to stop on the road crossing :-)

In short: Just brilliant.
In full: A really great race. Top organisation and a really friendly crowd. The course has some challenging sections but they are generally short and there are some lovely long downhill bits to make up for them. Highly recommended.

In short: A race others should aspire to put on and run at least once in a lifetime
In full: A fabulous venue made even better by perfect spring weather. A playful course with lightning descents and good climbing. Great touches as well. Whilst everybody gets a medal the first 50 over the line also get a special wicking t-shirt. Makes you feel like you have won a prize.
A true bargin on entrance fee not sure how they do it. Everyone had a smile on their face when they finished. Well supported as well given where some of the trails were.
A brilliant and memorable day.

In short: Great atmosphere, awesome scenery and a good challenge
In full: My third organised trail run....first trail half marathon and it exceeded my expectations. Was a challenging course but not so challenging that I couldn't top my PB. Always hard to go back to boring roads after a race like this. Will make this one part of the annual race calendar for sure.
