In short: Don Valley Stadium, the run through the city centre and the support at the hafway stage make this a race worth giving a go.
In full: Starting and finishing in the Don Valley Stadium is great, with ample parking close by and indoor toilets and changing rooms a real bonus. The course is fairly tough (but Sheffield is built on seven hills - what do you expect!). There's a great boost at the half way pouint with thousands of specators cheering you on. From about the nine mile mark its all either flat or downhill for the last 4 mile run in, a greta race and I would do it again.

In short: Severly lacking in spectators, an uninspiring route, cheap medal, too expensive, value for money - poor.
In full: Apart from the appeal of starting and finishing the race from within an international athletics stadium and a mile long section of supporters on Ecclesall Road, there is little other motivation. The remaining 12 miles are woefully short of spectators and the route through the deserted backstreets of the city is one of the most uninspiring i have ever experienced. At £16 for the unnatatched with a cheap medal, it fails miserably on value for money and it isn't surprising that it only rates as the 25th best 1/2 marathon in the country.

In short: Best bit is finishing in the Don Valley Stadium in front of the crowds!

In short: My first half and really enjoyed it.
In full: I thought the organisation was really good. There were loads of marshalls, drinks stations and first aiders. The course might have been through the centre of Sheffield but it's actually a really nice city with alot more going for it than I imagined.

In short: I like this race because it means coming home & it has a stadium finish. They need to get the mile markings right in future, mile six was the longest of my life.

In short: Enjoyed the stadium finish, nice medal
In full: Good crowds at half way point, good band too. Saw Steve Davis outside Crucible but he ignored us. Good race, would do it again.
