In full: As you entered the school grounds you noticed the huge number of portaloos, you noticed all the friendly smiling helpers, as you entered the building for registration the wonderful smell of bacon rolls hit you ...only £1.00 each. Then the smiling people on the registration desk.

This event has something for everybody, a fun run for the children (the cheering and clapping was so loud...superb), then the 10K, the start of which was followed shortly afterwards by a 5K.

Then the off (10K), superbly marsalled, all smilling, lots of marshalls in yellow tabards clapping and cheering you on.

Fast and flat all the way.

At the end a wonderfully enthusiastic commentator with all names and numbers beside her on an easel so she could encourage you by shouting out your name.

Then a medal, apples, grain bars, a bottle of water, then cups of water if you wanted it.

In short an event which other events would do well to emulate. If you didn't do it this year definitly do it next year!

Finally, I have nothing whatsoever to do with this event, I just like to give praise where it is wholeheartedly deserved.

In short: Well organised, great route, definite PB potential and very beginner friendly
In full: Great weather this year which obviously helps. The prevailing wind direction is for a headwind on the out route for about 4km or so but wind was light this year. Race starts at a school less than 1km from the far western end of the beach promenade (which runs all the way to Sandbanks). From the school it's full road width until a short wide path that drops down to the prom, then it's along the prom until Boscombe pier where you turn back and head in the opposite direction. Slightly different and longer route back off the end of the prom to make up the full 10k. No real problem with 'foot traffic' on the prom and generally easy to pass en route. Marshalling was very good, traffic stopped for all crossings and good facilities provided at start/finish. Please bear in mind it's a 10min walk from the suggested car parks so allow extra time for this or use it as a warm up. Will definitely being doing again next year.
