In short: I really enjoyed this race!
In full: This was a good race that was challenging with the wind. There was good parking and a huge hall to get ready in. The bag area was easy to find and very quick.

The course was really nice and I got a 3 min PB over my previous time set at the Thanet 10miler in December so very happy.

Good organisation and will do again next year. BUT....

I have to agree about the medal situation. This is hugely disappointing and not on given the entry price. I have no interest in a bag I will never use or a mug that will break. I want a medal that I can hang up and one day show to my grandchildren. Also, if you are going to give a bag then should you not put something in apart from a energy bar that other races have buckets full of for you to help yourself afterwards?

In short: Yep, too many runners, with too many narrow tracks. Also for me it was more hilly than uundulating, but I was badly out of shape. Couldn't understand why the finish was n next a van.

In short: Fine. No particular thrills or downers. A good race to get the year started with.
In full: I'm reviewing somewhat retrospectively, but I had no problems with this race. It was pretty much what I expected. It's quite a fast course for those attempting a PB.

In short: Badly organised race which offered little value for money.
In full: This race seemed to be badly organised, with too many runners. The HQ was over crowed, but admittedly this was larely due to the rain, but the car parking was inadequate for the size of the race. The start was also very over crowed with the large field running up the road towards parked cars. The course and marshalling overall was good, with a few hills. The finishing area and medal was disappointing, with runners having to help themselves to water, which when i finished due to the disorganisation went all over the floor.

In short: A good course with some nice views and friendly marshalls
In full: Despite advertising ample parking there was not enough so had to drive around looking for somewhere to park on the road making it a rush to collect chip and race number in a hall full of people milling around. Had to run to the start but got going on time.

The Finish was disappointing with a disorganised unmanned water station

In short: I've always enjoyed this race. If I had to be picky, there should be a finish banner although there was a sign to say 400m to go but that is the only thing I could think of. Very well organised, very pleasant course, would come back year after year
In full: Have always loved Canterbury 10miles. Lovely course, nice people and very well organised. Great chip timing with half way splits, thank you, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

In short: Good scenic race but not value for money
In full: The race itself is a good one. Fast course despite two main hills. Plenty of downhill stretches to make time up. We got there at least an hour before the start so parked in the school car park, got the number straight away and didn't queue for the toilets. Perhaps there's a lesson there for others. Saying all that though it isn't value for money and hard to figure out how they can justify the entry fee.

In short: good race, pity you couldn't see finish line
In full: this is the third time i've done this race now in 3 years and my time has improved everytime,
it has great scenery and a couple of hills, which makes the races worthwhile.
i like this race, but again couldn't see the finish line, and the lack of anything at the end apart form a medal.
will do it again if it is in my plans for marathon training

In short: Nice countryside route, little pricey though.
In full: This is the third time I've done this race being a local and have enjoyed it each time! As others have said the school hall race HQ was very crowded, but again as others mentioned the cold undoubtedly added to the overcrowding. That said I got my timing chip pretty quickly and was able to use a portaloo with less than 10mins in a cue prior to the race which was fine.

Lovely scenery and a route that takes you away from major roads through villages and farmland malkes the run itself a pleasure.

Biggest gripe, given that when I first did the race a good few years back, there was several hundred less runners then too, there were reasonable goody bags on finishing, and yes one year a mug I was expecting a drink and perhaps energy bar of some sort. I agree with other comments that of course the reason for running is not to get these bags at the end. However with the race being nearly £20, and over 1000 taking part, I would have thought there was some scope in the budget for at least a drink that didn't involve me pouring water from a giant container for myself and others that couldn't lift it!

Still, will be back next year...
