In short: Very tough for a MT first timer - But well worth it. In full: This was my first MT race and I was expecting it to be tough but it was a lot harder than I thought it would be! I'm training for a marathon and this run seemed harder than the previous weeks 20 mile race!! Maybe I found it harder becasue of it?? Anyway to sum up, A 'river' crossing, the marshalls the best ever, cheap, lovely scenery, one hill that seemed to go on forever, good weather, good organisation, one novelty pen = One smiling face at the end. (If only because the pain was all over!!) Date of review: March 25, 2010
In short: Beautiful event In full: Great all round - most encouraging marshalls ever, awesome scenery and not too tough. Pen much better than a medal or the paperweight last time I did it. A recycled one would be better still. Very special indeed. Date of review: March 25, 2010
In short: Best MT run in the area - always well organised In full: Well done Cirencester AC. Great race as always, more mud than usual due to heavy rain the day before and consequently the river deeper than expected! My favourite MT race in the area and hope that it continues for many years. In short: Tough but enjoyable off-road race In full: I had heard a lot of good things about this race but had never taken part until yesterday as it had always clashed with something else.
It thoroughly deserves the positive feedback it gets, as it is a very scenic and enjoyable race, however it was a little tougher than I expected. In fairness this was probably due to the rain the day before which made the terrain quite challenging.
Well organised, well marshalled and one thing I like a lot is the entry fee - an absolute steal at six quid!
Memento was a bit disappointing, I had heard of people coming away with paperweights and shot glasses so was expecting more than a biro, but at least it's useful and as someone has stated already, we need more low-cost events like this.
Will definitely do this one again, probably only as a training run. Date of review: March 22, 2010
In short: Thank God for the roads! In full: I don't normally like off-road - no, let me rephrase that - I hate off-road. But this is one race that I do every year, simply because it's such a gas. The scenery is gorgeous, the run is very challenging but not too long, and the organisation is terrific. Date of review: March 22, 2010
