In short: Hot and hilly but a great race In full: This is local for me so a laid back Sunday morning run. The 3 hills, enough has been said about them but Blackberry Hill at the very end is a killer. No amount of training prepares you for it, because feeling good at 9k and going downhill, you go faster and never have enough left! Watering station could have done to have been earlier, after the 2nd uphill at 6k was just too late on such a hot day. Good value event though and beers in the student union bar afterwards made it worthwhile Date of review: May 22, 2011

In short: Confusion with start mats; should have been told it was gun start, chip finish. Date of review: April 24, 2011

In short: More than one tough hill in this race!! In full: Excellent race, good organisation, and well supported. Not just Blackberry Hill at end to contend with, as there were a couple more tough hills en route. Overall very enjoyable, and would definitely do this again. Only slight drawback was the 'gun to chip' timing (why have starting mats?) Date of review: April 20, 2011

In short: Those hills!! In full: Scenery through Snuff Mills was gorgeous. The heat and the hills combined meant I had to walk the end of all the hills - so I'll be back next year to beat them! Was pleasantly surprised, when I got my race pack through, to find that it was chip timed. Organisation was generally good although I (generally) only saw every other kilometre marker (probably just me), and when I did see 2 consecutive markers they must have been out as according to my watch I did 1k in about 3 mins (I wish!) Makes a nice change to have a mug at the end. Date of review: April 18, 2011

In short: Road and woods, all good and plenty of neighbours giving encouragement. As everyone else said, you just dont have enough left for Blackberry hill as hard as you might try. In full: First Frenchay for me and thoroughly enjoyed it. Was a little too hot but hey, the organisers cant do anything about that! Well organised, friendly and chuffed to get a decent T shirt which also had my name on!! Simple things eh? Also, a mug was a nice change too. Very very close to a PB for me despite the hills and would deffo do it again, though am concentrating on halfs for the rest of the season. Well done Frenchay, a cracking day! In short: Good Hot and Hilly challenge In full: Really enjoyed this very popular event. A large crowd that was very well managed with slick organisation. Nice little route through Snuff Mills where the sceneray was very pleasant, then it it turned a bit blurry as i battled up the hills. Would have a liked a water station at the half way stage but suppose it was hotter than expected. Will go a bit easier on the wine the night before next time. Date of review: April 17, 2011

In short: If you manage a pb here you are not trying hard enough on the flat runs. An enjoyable run which once again has been blessed with glorious weather. Date of review: April 17, 2011

In short: Heat and hills but at least it wasn't 26.2 miles In full: My first time at Frenchay and thoroughly enjoyed it (until the final gruelling hill). Excellent organisation. I wish I'd entered in advance and would have picked up the nice t-shirts bearing runners names. It was pretty warm towards midday. I was thankful nit be running London this year. Well done to the organisers for an excellent race. Date of review: April 17, 2011
