In short: Great race, well organised In full: Well done to everyone involved, Race Director, marshalls, Overton club members and supporters you all helped make the race one of the best. Date of review: April 3, 2007
In short: Good race and very enjoyable In full: Great race , great drive to the start , wind was hellish , now having read other reviews , what cakes ? what showers ? all I and a lot of others got was a bottle of water ?
Maybe we just missed them , but hey ho a good race and I will be back Date of review: April 2, 2007
In short: The one to judge other events against In full: After finishing 29 times in the last 31 years I finally clocked my first DNF. But then I saw the fantastic organisation in action. Dropped out at 13.5 miles after a brief impersonation of Jim Peters. A car was on hand in minutes to transport me to the finish.
Despite not making it to the line this year the course was made harder by the strongest head wind i can remember but the views were as superb as ever.
Back next year without fail. Date of review: April 2, 2007
In short: Well Organised, Wonderful Atmosphere, Great Views, Over an Excellent but Hard Course In full: This is my second and the contrast in weather was marked, last year a wet, misty mud fest, this year dry, dusty and hellishly windy straight into your face almost the whole route, but the hills were as big as I remembered, to finish in the same time as last year! The organisation was floorless again; the atmosphere was excellent everyone encouraging each other even at the sharp end and the cakes at the end were excellent! The trophy I collect was a hand made miniature of the Gibbet a very nice touch. Possibly the best race of the year. Date of review: April 2, 2007
In short: what a bargain In full: Could not be better - really well organised , very friendly marshalls and everyone very helpfull . Great weather if a little windy and excellent views . Not for the faint hearted though. Date of review: April 2, 2007
In short: Superb off-road race with stunning scenery and excellent organisation In full: Another great Gibbet race and as the sun was out the views over Berkshire and Hampshire were stunning. Great to do a point to point run. Didn't personally have a great run due to recurrence of an old injury but I'll be back next year. Date of review: April 2, 2007
In short: Congratulations Overton In full: Starting with the lady I spoke to the night before about entering everyone was extremely friendly and helpful. Add to that excellent value and organisation and you get a great race. The only reason I`ve marked down beginner friendliness is that it`s not easy especially for someone like me who is not used to running that far! Date of review: April 1, 2007
In short: A perfect course! In full: I enjoyed this race so much I didn't want it to end - even with a burst blister on my foot. The route was a perfect run along the highest points between Inkpen and Overton. Marshals were everywhere and the finish was at the bottom of a hill. Showers, cake and tea were available. What more could a girl want? Date of review: April 1, 2007
