In short: Lots of lovely countryside but little atmosphere
In full: I drove this route before the race and was pleased that it took in some lovely single track country roads, but also a brief section through a new housing estate. On the day, however, this was a fast field - lots of miltary, with large gaps in the field and the country lanes and big gaps meant little to no atmosphere. Was a hot day and there were definitely not enough water stations, but other than that quite organised. As it was a fast field, even those coming in under 2 hours were greeted by things shutting up for the day at the finish.

In short: Really enjoyed it. Will be there next year.
In full: This was my first half marathon (and actually only the second race I've ever done) so my review probably doesn't mean much. But I thought it was a good course and well organised. Being forced up onto the pavement to cut corners by other runners at the beginning was a bit of a shock - but maybe that always happens??
