In short: My first 10 mile race and I really enjoyed it! Good atmosphere, friendly runners and a trip down memeory lane spotting pubs in Portsmouth I had previously drunk in ;) Date of review: January 21, 2006
In short: The race changed my view of Portsmouth totally. Did both North and South runs this year. The Great South Run wiped the floor with the Great North Run as an experience. Date of review: January 4, 2006
In short: My first 10m race, excellent organisation and goodies at the end. Enjoyed every minute and atmosphere swept me along to a finish under 1h 30m. I'll be back next year Date of review: January 4, 2006
In short: ' In full: great race, unfortunately long way off my pb i got last year due to carrying an injury.won of my favourite races in the year ,even got my 16 year old son to run this year Date of review: November 26, 2005
In short: An excellent flat, fun, fast race - my favourite event after FLM In full: I've done four GSRs and this was my favourite, if not my fastest. Every year there is more to do and see, and Portsmouth is a fascinating place to spend a weekend, with more history per square mile than most cities.
The race itself gives families and friends the opportunity to see you at the beginning, middle and end without moving far, and it retains the perfect blend of the small race and the televised event.
It is expensive to enter, but for a great weekend with opportunities for everyone to run, be it the main race, the mile or the mini/junior events, it can't be faulted.
I'll be back next year. Date of review: October 27, 2005
