In short: Tough but rewarding
In full: 4 years since I last did this, and despite those hills, the mud, and some ice, it was a hugely positive experience. Well organised, good weather, nice location, a very satisfying 13mins faster than last time, a cracking antidote to the Christmas excesses, and a perfect kick-start to the year.

In short: Hills were painful, running was tricky due to conditions in some places but overall a good fun race!
In full: Start seemed very relaxed compared to most races and finding it wasn't clearly marked although signs for car parks were everywhere.
Hills are really tough and the ice on the roads made going downhill tricky work sometimes.
Overall worth doing though as a tester before any marathon really kicks in

In short: Hilly but very worth the trip. Enjoyed the different terrains and some bits were icy and then muddy!!
In full: A good test to see how well one does on hill training. Recommend this race for anyone to test their hill strength.

In short: great january race to run off the christmas weight gain..
In full: ive done this race for the past 3 years now and always forget how tough the hills are .. having said that it is a great well organised race with a friendly mix of runners . would like organisers to have a medal at the finsh rather than the same old things that either get put in the loft or given away ( towel/gloves/bumbag )
