In short: very friendly... well organised..more fruit cake...less wind... In full: really friendly and encouraging race..cheering you on in the middle of nowhere...wind was vicious but at least it wasn't raining! Date of review: March 13, 2006
In short: Flat as it gets, major PB potential, wind allowing! In full: Really well organised, great marshalling, almost traffic free route, missed my PB by less than a minute, would have cracked it if not for the wind. Locked myself out of my car after the race, the organisers couldn't have been more helpful, especially the Race Director, Peter Arnott. I even got some free coaching tips while I was waiting! I hope to be back next year, and also for the "how far can you run in 12 hours" challenge that's being organised for September. Date of review: March 6, 2006
In short: Totally flat course with very good pb potential - don't give up when the wind is against you! In full: Although it can be punishing when running directly into a head wind, hang in there. I was surprised how re-energised I felt as soon as the course took a more favourable direction.
The race was well marshalled and the encouraging support was much appreciated. Date of review: March 6, 2006
In short: A good, easy race for first-time halfers In full: Friendly and well organised. Easy flat course, but the wind was a killer at times (mile 11 was particularly nasty). I enjoyed it and will be back next year. Date of review: March 6, 2006
