In short: For my first 1/2 this was a lot of fun!
In full: The mini Mars bars at about mile 8 really perked me up! Also the flexible start time is a brilliant invention - means I wasn't overtaken for quite a while as I started 25 mins before the rest!

In short: Its a personal challenge over some difficult multi-terrain.
In full: You do not have to wait for the "mass start", which was a particular bonus. The elite overtake you at speed a while later !!!
Some difficult under-foot conditions - requiring some caution at times.
Very well organised and marshalled. The end of event breakfast was also a BIG plus.

In short: Well organised winter marathon/challenge.
In full: was a bit concerned about finding my way - lots of arrows - however couple places not really sure - went back to one checkpoint to ask the marshalls who eplained the route - would not have gone that way otherwise.
had a great - long day - out on the downs.

I have renamed the South Downs as the Soouth Sludge after several parts of the grey/clay/chalky sludge !

So different to the white hard glaring downs on the Three Forts !

Highly recommended race.

In short: Well organised trail event.
In full: Well organised - lot of arrows but one or two places were not clear - marshalls on the course were great - very helpful - great full breakfast at the finish.
Highly recommended to anyone who likes trails events and does not mind a bit of mud !

Facilities at start ok - except "gents" really need urinals - long long long queues to use the 2 cubicles.
