In short: A great value fun (occasionally muddy) challenge In full: Top marks and my thanks to the organizers. Was another great year with this race, and fantasic value with the Photos included. See you next year... Date of review: March 9, 2011
In short: Great course, good weather, hard climbs In full: Excellent race. Although a slow course (pb potential is zero unless it's your first) it never drags because the scenery is uplifting. Just one gripe - the organisers need to decide whether it is a race or a time trial. This year there were only about 25 runners in the mass start for the half marathon. It would be strange if the winner was someone who started half an hour before everyone else that the mass starters had no opportunity to race. Date of review: March 9, 2011
In short: Great race In full: Well organised, good value for money and tough. This race is what running is all about and on a nice clear day the views are amazing. There is a fun down hill section through the woods at the end which is it worth saving some energy for! Date of review: March 8, 2011
In short: Tough but very enjoyable race In full: A great day out over the South Downs. We were very lucky with near perfect running conditions and mostly dry underfoot.
Race had fantastic organisation, well equipped stations and to top it all a warm(ish) shower and cooked breakfast at the finish.
Great idea to be able to start at different times so that course not congested.
My only minor gripe was the signage on the loop between miles 18 - 21. We got lost (as I think a few people did) and by the time we re-grouped and came past the 21 mile marker, we had clocked up 23.5 miles. Not a problem as using this as a training run, but I can imagine being less than impressed under other circumstances!
Many thanks indeed to all at Steyning AC for organising and to all the marshalls that were great the whole way round. Date of review: March 7, 2011
