In full: I didn't enter this for the scenary, as I'm sure most people didn't. The reason to enter this race is for it's PB potential. Definate potential on that front. 2nd lap is a bit tough mentally as support is pretty much limited to the finish area. Had a local band playing which was a nice touch.
Would pay an extra 50p on the entry to avoid having to pick my number on the day. An unneccesary inconvenience. 3rd km marker in completely the wrong place and I missed the first two markers so my pacing was shot as I got no update until 4th km. Date of review: April 14, 2009
In short: It does what it says on the tin... In full: What the race loses in scenery etc it more than makes up for in organisation and the 'human element'. A very tedious 2 lap circuit of an industrial estate is never going to be a favourite but in its own way the race is great if you can just nuckle down and focus. Its got potential for a pb (if it wasn't long !!) Date of review: April 13, 2009
In short: Well organised but could improve In full: I have done this race a fair few times. Race organisation good but presentataion was confusing. Lack of showers a downer. Although the course was a def pb potential. Marsalls great and I like the brass band. Date of review: April 13, 2009
In short: Well organised straight-forward race In full: If you want magnificent views of wildebeest sweeping across the plains then go elsewhere. If you want a simple well organised race on a potentially quick course then do this race. Good marshalls, good organisation, good band and a good location. Minor gripe in the spacing and visibility of the distance markers (if believed I did the 4th K in around 3 minutes) - get some poles and actually put the k markers at the right places rather than on the nearest lamppost. Beyond that though no criticisms, and definitely a better course than previously. If I'm in the area again next year at this time then I'll be back. Date of review: April 12, 2009
In short: flat and fast but a bit boring on the eyes. In full: The organisation for this event was brill, very quick and smooth signing in. Plenty of marshals doing a great job controling traffic, directing and motivating. Flat course, wide footpaths but around an industrial estate. Good mix of runners from beginers like me to some serious types who were participating in the Cheshire race series. Everyone was very friendly and supportive. Date of review: April 12, 2009
In short: Pleased In full: Well done South Cheshire - New Course and got a New PB for 10km very pleased. Only Grip was at 7km mark marshalls were unable to stop a white van from turning into my path so had to stop breafly which i was not to happy about as It but me out of my stride! Wish 10km runners could have a medal also. Date of review: April 12, 2009
