In short: Wow... A PB with those hills... In full: If it weren't for that blinkin' horse I've been faster... That's my excuse. Still a PB is a PB even if it's just by 2 seconds!! A little hilly, with superb country lane running in between the M1 and M10; who'd've thought that little wedge of green would be so lovely. A friendly, chatty crowd, cheap as chips race with an engraved medal and excellent cakes and refreshments... Thank you St Albans for making us feel very welcome. Date of review: May 9, 2011
In full: Decided to do this one again at the last minute after pulling out of a half due to illness. Still not feeling 100% come the start of the race I'm glad I turned up. Beautiful day & nice scenic course.
The hills were just as I remembered - frequent! Nothing really steep & they're over quite quickly.
Despite being a very small local race, it is well organised.
In short: spectacular views as the scene In full: great run, start point a little bit disappointing as I lost 1 minute because of narrow lane. Later on everything great- marshalls did a great job. My result is as it was. Date of review: May 8, 2011
In short: Quite Challenging 10k through nice country lanes In full: Really nice event put on by St Albans Striders - certainly not flat but hills generally fairly short. Nice cakes at the end. Only grumble is that the results are incorrect and I appear to have been given time of the runner who finished behind me which cost me 30 seconds :( Date of review: May 8, 2011
