In short: Hottest run I've ever done!
In full: It was always going to be hot and I loved the hose!! I really enjoy this race and expect it to be tough and hot at this time of year so carry water with me.

In short: MORE Toilets needed! Drinking water tasted foul! Great themed memento of a horsebrass - no tacky medals here! Great mildy undulating course through terrific new forest scenery, a bit on the road, but mostly on forest tracks & trails.

In short: Earlier start and better toilets
In full: As everyone has said very hot on day but you do expect it at that time of day. However it could be bearable if the start was at a more 'normal' time of day - 10.00 a.m. would be great. This would also minimise the traffic delays as no jams through Lyndhurst early in morning. Marshalls were great and put in extra water station but this would really have been better at maybe 3 miles rather than at 8 miles. Good car parking and nice for picnics. Very poor toilet facilities - stinky and inadequate especially for an event billed as for the whole family!!!! Will not enter this one in advance again - I want to know what the weather forecast is first.

In short: Was it uphill the whole way?
In full: My first 10 mile and I expect that they will be a lot easier than this one, the heat didn't help as everone else has said, but there was a lot of sustained uphill in this and I can't remember a downhill of any note, not one for PBs excpet me a it was my first one. Looking forward to the Great South Run which should be cool and flat but a bit concerned about the New Forest half in September :-( Griff

In short: Too hot, too late, yukky water
In full: A lot has been said before...way too hot (which organisers can't do much about) and start time way too late (which they can). Horrible tasting water, although hose much welcomed. Suggest having water stations at 3m, 6m and 8m. Found scenery quite tedious actually, but that may have been because I wasn't enjoying myself one iota and just wanted it finished.

In short: scenic but started too late and no water stations in first half
In full: Lack of water stations on first half was a real downer on a scorching hot day.
Race should have started at 10am, not 12.45
late start meant we all caught the worse of the traffic and the hottest part of the day.
