In full: thanks to Stephen Smith for organising an excellent race. The marshals were are in the right place, giving plenty of encouragement. we are knew the course was hard. the technical t-shirt given out said it all, 'i survived the Saltash Half'. great goody bag given out. i am very proud to be a member of the Tamar Trotters.

In short: OMG, what a challange the toughest race I have ever competed in, hill followed by hill followed by another, great for someone who has afew runs under there belt but not reccomend for a starter, may put them off for life LOL
In full: Great run great through saltash and long river, Warning very steep course, hill after hill, no let up. Waterstations perfectly placed, and a great atmosphere from fellow competitors and the locals out to cheers you on, lost count how many times I was offered a jelly baby on route. Course well marshalled and organisation great. Seriously think about doing it again now I know the course, but would get more hill training first this time

In short: A thoroughly enjoyable race with hills, hills and more hills!
In full: A hard slog made harder with a hangover. Note to self, just a medicinal half next time the night before a race. Despite my over-indulgance not much chance of a PB here but if you came to try and get one then I think you would be missing the point of this race. All runners seemed to grimmace at the thought of running back up the downhill sections in the latter stages of the race and yet there was still plenty of joking and banter about the challenge. The t-shirts quite rightly say 'I survived the Saltash Half Marathon'. It was a hilly course from start to finish but this seemed to highlight the banter and camaraderie between runners and marshallers. Whilst talking of the marshallers, absolutely first class with more encouragement in one race than I think I have ever received in all other races combined. And I got a free running tip about relaxing my shoulders-too tense apparently. ta muchly!

All of the above and a tech t-shirt all for £12! Bargain doesn't cover it. I would thoroughly recommend it to others.

In short: Enjoyable race despite the challenging hills!
In full: Looking at last years reviews seems the organisers have made improvements. Car parks well signposted from A38, Start well signposted from car parks. Route is certainly challenging, I don't recall any flat bits - either going down hill or up hill for the whole race! Marshalls very enthusiastic along with spectators who were brilliant at cheering you on up and down the hills. Jelly babies being handed out were very welcome too.
