In short: Like Clockwork
In full: Great race. Nice enough scenery. Difficult to be objective about the course difficulty as I had a bad run, but I'm guessing all of the gradual but persistent inclines would be a good challenge, even on a good day. Stewards and organisation absolutely magnificent. Lots of stewards with rattles to cheer you on :) Lots of clear markings and the most water stations I've ever seen! All credit to the organisers. Ice lolly at the end strangely seemed to make up for the terrible time. Nice touch. Be back next year!

In short: Lots of competitors running through pretty countryside
In full: Big field, but room to run most of the time. Quite hilly early on but big downhill stretch on the way back.
Always seems to be hot as hell, but there were plenty of water stations.

In short: Great event, excellent organisation
In full: I last did this in 2006 and it has improved dramatically with a much more interesting and varied course through country lanes. I wouldn't call it particularly hilly, but I do live in the Cotswolds. Excellent organisation, lots of friendly marshalls and more than plenty of water stops on a warm day. Thanks to all those volunteers who worked so hard. Nice tee-shirt too and the small things like free face painting for kids on the day was a nice touch.

In short: Brilliant fun. Will be back next year.
In full: This was my first time at the St. Albans and I will def. be back next year. Ok this course is hilly. People who had run it previously warned me about the hills at 3 miles and 6 miles. And yes, they are there but not killer hills - but tiring, my legs certainly felt it. Not a PB course but definitely one to enjoy. Marshalls were top class, friendly competitors, and the ice-lolly at the finish was perfect. Weather was great too!
