In short: Great run but weather dependant. Strong winds or unseasonal warmth can make it hell

In full: The keen wind on the outward leg made you feel like you were flying! Very different on the way back though.

In short: Very enjoyable race !
In full: As others have said, this really was a morning well spent ! A PB was out the window due to the wind but that didn't really matter. Good atmosphere, especially the last 1/2k - the band were great !! A definte race for next year.

In short: This is a special event!
In full: This day has everything, a 1K kiddies run, a 5K fun event, a great flat 10K and a mega half marathon, which one you do is up to you, but it’s worth doing because the atmosphere was brilliant! And they had Frank Bruno there to start the races!

I did the 10K, the course was simple along the promenade with a small climb up the rock face at Gordon’s steps (which aren’t steps at all but ramps), and back again.

It would have had excellent PB potential but for the wind. The first 5K were wind assisted, with it gusting badly enough to take your breath away on the way back. You were literally running into the teeth of a gale! Well almost.

But it was the whole ambience of the day that made it worthwhile. The organisation was definitely slick, they even arranged for the kiddies to finish their race with the adults for from the half!! We got a medal and a T-shirt at the finish, there were plenty of water stops (even two on the 10K), and a great crowd to cheer you on at the end.

Get there early, leave late and soak up the sheer enjoyment of the day!

My only criticism was slower runners starting in front of me, and I was near the front! But the course was wide and the crowd thinned quickly so this was only a small point.

My thanks to the organisers and everyone who volunteered to help, it was great.

In short: What a great event. Under optimal weather conditions, good PB potential, but today the strong tailwind for the first 5km, gave way to the inevitable homebound headwind... hard work. The brass band and commentary on the run in made it special. :)

In short: parking let the set up down due to having to pay, should be free parking for runners at the least. The weather was windy therefore PB's went out the window,on a more pleasent day PB's would be possible. A very cheeky Zig Zag at the 5 km point.
