In short: Very friendly, well organised race. In full: The event organisers were exceptionally friendly; I got a great goody bag with healthy food after the race, a medal and certificate. Would highly recommend this to anyone.
I like the fact that the times of all the runners are published on the website too. Date of review: August 22, 2005

In short: Excellent organisation, nice course In full: Bar the delayed (and false!) start this was a very well organised event. The marshals offer personal encouragement to all runners as they have a list of runners names. The course is 6 flat laps on grass, trail, gravel and concrete. Would have PB potential if it wasn't slightly longer than 1/2M. Will definitely be back next year. Date of review: August 22, 2005

In short: Organisers make you feel special and involved. In full: As other reviewers mentioned name lists definitely helped. Very flat and nice varied terrain. Had my doubts at the beginning about organisation but it came good and I'd recommend this to anyone. Even my "not too sure about running" girlfriend is considering it. Date of review: August 21, 2005

In short: One of the few half marathons which can make you think that "run" rhymes with "fun"! In full: This is just an excellent race. The course is almost completely flat, and would be a surefire PB race if it wasn't for the fact that it is slightly longer than a true 1/2. The setting is glorious - a large expanse of green surrounded by a canal. The local council have done their best to spoil things by swamping (marshing?) it with football pitches, stinging nettles, sink housing and possibly the world's ugliest factory - what's the matter with these people?! - but on a sunny day it is still beautiful even on the 6th lap! The organisation has a true calypso flavour, upbeat and enthusiastic, and the goodie bag at the end has to be one of the best around - cakes, bagels and fruit. Nice small field means no congestion even on the narrow tracks and everyone is very supportive. Don't usually bother with saturday races but this one is a must. Date of review: August 20, 2005
