In short: Just read the comment by Dave Little the race director
In full: I can understand your frustrations Dave. Why don't you publish the name and phone number of the person you dealt with at Gosport Borough Council so those with a gripe can with them directly. The council have obviously not supported you or your club in hosting this event, and the blame is theirs. Bunch of wasters.

In short: A fantastic race!!
In full: This was my first half-marathon and I would definitely do it again. The course was flat and fast. The weather was ideal. Everyone was extremely friendly and the organisation was faultless. The marshalls and organisers were so encouraging and positive! A fab goody bag at the end :o) I look forward to next year and hopefully a quicker time!

In short: Fantastic marshalling, great organisation and a course made for PBs
In full: From the moment I arrived to the moment I left the organisation marshalling was slick and supportive. Many thanks to the Gosport RR for all their efforts.
While it could be said that 2 and half laps could be boring for the runners, for those spectating and cheering on loved ones it is ideal and allows them to see their runner on more than one occasion, a rare treat for all concerned.
Overall the course is ideal for achieving PBs, something that I attained in 3 half-marathon in a row. Next time though I will break that elusive 90 min barrier.

In short: Brilliant first time Half Marathon
In full: Great organisation – bag stowage, toilets, registration, changing rooms, parking etc.. Also good that you can register on the day if you are a bit unsure…… On the one-hand it’s a shame that it’s twice round the same course but then again good to see the support a second time. Will definitely be back next year, well done Gosport Road Runners!

In short: One short and two long laps, could be boring.
In full: I enjoyed it but then I PD'd. It not too far from home and I do like running by the sea. One very short and two long laps, could be boring for slower runners but it was well organised and the good weather helped. Once through the water side and marina area the scenery became bland and suburban, time to conentrate on a bit of speed. In to the second lap and you know what to expect so you can just go for it, there are no surprises and nothing to prevent a PB over the distance a good race for novices too. I will be trying a PB again next year.

In short: Great race
In full: Excellent organisation, the bag room was very speedy - much improvement on last year, and there were loads of toilets (seemed to be more open than last year). All the marshalling was very efficient and they were very friendly and encouraging to all the runners. Fast, flat course, good atmosphere, nice medal and I got a PB. All in all a great race! Thank you Gosport Road Runners.

In short: An impressive event, well worth the trip (for the third time!!)
In full: Yes an absolutely excellent event, well organised, loads of enthusaistic marshalls, generally good facilities and obviously the mild weather hepls. But, and this is the point, it would have still been a fantastic event even if it had been blowing a gale and pouring with rain.

This year (my third) they even had some delightful young ladies doing gait analysis and trying to persuade as many people as poss to buy a certain well known brand running shoes.

Indeed the only complaint of the day I heard was concerning these girls. They had a very nice truck and an extremely good PA system, which was pumping out some fairly decent music, one of the girls was doing her best to enthuse the crowd when all of a sudden they were told to stop by one of the organisers!! Any idea why??

It was a shame because they were doing a magnificent job of entertaining my special needs 15 year old boy!!

Roll on next year!!
