In short: fantastic
In full: In terms of hills, hard work and scenery, this is possibly the closest to a fell race that a road race can get. Long downhills followed by tough climbs meant that my splits varied from 6 mins to 12, which beats steady paced monotony any day. The organisation ran like clockwork, I've never seen so many marshalls and water stations, and there's even a pub and a cafe (both open first thing on a Sunday morning) at the start/finish line. What more could you want? An iconic T-shirt maybe? You get that too.

In short: Brilliant but brutal
In full: Fantastic event all round. The village is very welcoming, the course rewards your (very)hard work with superb views and a couple of nice long downhills and there's a real sense of achievement at the end as you drop into the village square to applause a BBQ and a pint.

In short: Very tough course but spectacular views - just as promised!
In full: Brilliant village event - really festive start and finish in village centre (finish line v close to great pub). Extemely well organised, water & sponges every few miles, v supportive marshalls, some crowd support along the way (especially jovial crowd at 9 mile mark), just how a good race should be.

In short: No arguing that this is a tough course but it's fantastically organised and marshalled - seems like a proper community effort. Wonderful.

In short: Well done once again to the organisers!
In full: Lost count of the number of drinks stations, bottles of water with "sport cap", countless sponges. Huge number of friendly marshalls. Excellent facilities and atmosphere at the finish. The course is difficult but very satisfying
