In short: Hilarious
In full: It hurts but is so much fun! My second Grim and by no means the last. Trying to persuade all my friends to do it next time. The cheers from the crowd as you struggle through the final thigh high puddle make it all worth while.

In short: Not as challenging as aspected with out heavy rain leading up to the day would be quite easy .

In short: Has potential to develop into something special.
In full: When I first heard about this race I thought, could be good, sounds like a southern version of the "Tough Guy". It is advertised as being on Army land and being part of their training ground. Bit dissapointed with lack of obstacles. Good be a classic if developed.

In short: Good challenge, fun, very wet and cold!
In full: A great challenge but the two miles along gravel a bit boring compared with the rest! Expensive for the medal - in the past apparently there have been t-shirts and goody bags.

Good atmosphere and fantastic photos.

In short: Using Grim 8 was my first off road race (jumping in at the deep end) but great fun!
In full: Not as bad as I 'feared'. Managed to get runner's knee from it though, most likely due to the fact that I hadn't included any hill training what so ever in my road only running. Didn't see the medals being handed out - so got to come back to do it one more time :-)

In short: A great intro to off road racing
In full: My second Grim and yes, no T shirt was a shame given the price, but this is a great race for those who are too scared to race XC - I convinced 26 'non runners' from work to go and they all loved it. Will be back next year.

In short: If I got a t-shirt
In full: Compared to Races such as the London 1/2 Marathon, which gives you a t-shirt, a medal and other goodies, this race really let me down.

In short: Great race but would have been good to have a free race shirt at finish to keep warm.

In short: Much harder than I predicted but great fun - if you like getting wet and cold
In full: Much harder than I predicted but great fun - if you like getting wet and cold that is! I thought this was an excellent event with an atmosphere to match. Everyone seemed to enjoy the day and it was epitomised by the Elvis clone who sped past me in his sideburns and shades. Definitely will do it again but PLEASE put the water station after the cargo net! Dropped my bottle in the netting and spent the rest of the race thirsty. Probably would have won if it was not for that - well that is what I told my son.
