In short: nice route with good support. need to sort out how you can easily leave the runners village without a very long detour.

In short: Not the most inspiring race
In full: Wanted a half so that I could achieve my under 2 hours goal, and that I did (just) Definately not enough toilets at the start and I nearly missed my start because of that. The route was not very inspiring although Bristol itself is a lovely place. The last part through the town and round some park track was just de moralising. Glad I did it but prob wouldn't bother again.

In short: Perennial Favourite
In full: I like the course, and especially the atmosphere, with the crowds increasing year on year. It's always puzzling to think you're near the finish when there's about six miles of wiggling around the town to go, but you get there in the end. The start and finish organisation are excellent. The route could be a little straighter, and just one year I'd love to avoid those little hills in the last few miles. But overall an excellent race.

In short: One of the best large half marathons
In full: Pros:
Good route & scenery with a couple of hills thrown in so that it's not boringly fast.
Tour of the city centre side streets is fun and is quite a contrast to the straight section along the Avon Gorge. The cobbles made for an interesting change of surface!
Good water stations and well manned by the cadets.
Good first aid cover.
Really smart medal with a nice design.
Not a bad goody bag.
Wave starts worked well, although many slower runners still can't seem to admit to themselves that they need to start further back so as not to block faster people when they grind to a standstill after the first mile - you would think it was pretty basic really!!
Finish was well organised and not funnelled into a sardine tin as happens at many other events: Good use of space.
Cons:
Disappointing poor quality cotton T-shirt for such an expensive event.(Compare it to the high quality Brooks one at the famous Tavy 7 in Devon!).
There are never enough loos at any race I've ever been to...
Getting across Anchor Road from College Green to the village in Millenium Square was not easy and was poorly signposted.
Signposting in general was poor and way too small.

In short: A great fun run
In full: Excellent spacing of runners so that all groups of equal ability have a chance to actually run, rather than jog. Found it exciting what with the support and cheering.

In short: Fairly flat course good run
In full: Good Run fairly flat. Entry price was expensive and it was fairly hard to get to for an early start.

In short: Fantastic Organisation
In full: I was a bit put off by the price of this one, thirty odd quid, but the organisation for such a large race was spot on and after the carnage of the Edinburgh marathon this was how a big race should be done. The start was excellent, all the marshals where very helpful and knew what they were doing, the course was really good, do enjoy seeing the elites charging past with barely a sweat on.
I've done nearly twenty half and full marathons and I felt this was one of the best races I've done, the organisers should be applauded for this because this is how it should be done.
