In short: 3rd year in row & I'll be back for the 4th :-)
In full: Very enjoyable event despite 'the hill', it somehow suprised me yet again this year... When will I learn to save something for the hill?

In short: Good local race
In full: One of my favourite local races. Nice friendly crowd, and good to see so many familiar faces. Managed to beat last year's time, so happy with that. And a t-shirt to wear at the gym later!

All in all I struggle to understand why more runners don't do these kind of events. Yes you have to pay a few quid, but it's a day out as much as anything. Having my photo taken with other members of the Swindon Harriers for Swindon web made the day for me.

I'd also like to say thank you to the marshall who checked I was ok at the end - I was fine, just exhausted after staggering up that hill!

Definitely one for the race calendar every year.

In short: Well organised, friendly, but that hill doesn't get any easier
In full: This is where I live, so I can roll out of bed late and jog up to the start line. It always has a friendly buzz about it and there are plenty of cheerful marshalls all around the course. First four miles are great, but I echo others' comments about the final climb that starts again just when you think you've cracked it. I run this section a lot in training, and it never seems to get any easier! All in all, I really like this race and I think I would travel a lot more than 0.5M to get to the start, if I had to.

In short: Don't you just love that hill
In full: Nice crowd. School hall available before and after lots of nice cakes. Last mile is a killer. Just after you think the hill is finished the road starts to climb again. Plenty of down hill in the first 4 miles to help though. Beat last years time by 3 minutes so I am biased.

In short: Very well organised nice location with good facilities and friendly marshals
In full: Yes that hill is deceptive just when you think you have reached the top there are more inclines just arround the corner before the finish! Think I have chopped a few seconds off last years time under 40mins so well pleased!Shame about the section before the hill which seemed to have loads of traffic, why couldnt the horse box owners and sports car enthusiasts wait to let us go by before they crused up and down that section got several nice lung fulls of carbon monoxide just at that critical time. Hey ho! nice race hope to be back next year

In short: Where were the flat bits then?
In full: I was expecting the hill after the 4 mile mark but wow!! most of the course was on a gradient of some sort (except for the flat school field at the end!)....the most challenging 5 mile race I've ever done!Smooth organisation, great facilities and the marshalls and first aiders were everywhere, thank you! May be back for more? but will have to do loads of hill-work first!
