In short: Great race
In full: Excellent value race with a few twists along the route. It's all off road on footpaths and tracks, including through slurry on a farm and over an equestrian site - including jumps. A great fun race with no expensive an unecessary extras - if you're looking for goody bags and crowds it's not for you. If on the other hand you like a fun morning out in some lovely countryside with supportive marshalls and homemade cakes afterwards then sign up!

In full: Very well organised race. Mostly flat or downhill for the first 3 miles, flatish for 4th mile, then the hill in the last mile. Then try and get your breath back for the final sprint to the line !! Nice refreshments after the race as well.

In short: Lovely race. The hill's a pain but unless all you worry about is PBs (or minimum pain) then it's a nice low key, scenic race.
In full: There's good parking, plenty of helpful and smiling marshalls, a lovely route through the countryside and then tea and cake afterwards - not much more you could ask for from a local event (or any for that matter).

Ideally there wouldn't be a bit of a big hill after 4 miles or a temperature a few degrees hotter than ideal, but the former just adds to the challenge and the latter to your tan.

I need to run a different 5 mile race to set a good PB but I'll continue to run this one for fun anyway.
