In short: Sand sand glorious sand!
In full: This is a real leg drainer of a race, starting and finishing on the beach. Then there is sandy tracks and more sandy tracks, then some deep sand, then some hard sand. Forget this race if you are after a PB, but if you want a pleasant scenic race (not just from the nudist beach you run through at the end!) then this is the race for you!

In short: Fantastic cross country race with superb scenery and views
In full: Did this race first in 2009 and loved it but couldn't make 2010 as it clashed with Clarendon Marathon. Back this year and it didn't disappoint. Faultless organisation, excellent signage and marshalling. Only very small sections of tarmac during road crossings so definitely one for those who like cross country. Lots of sand, starting and ending on the beach although the toughest section of deep, soft, sandy bridleway comes between 8 and 9.5km. Superb scenery, helped even more but a beautiful sunny day, not reminiscent of mid-October! Will be back next year.

In short: Beautiful scenery takes your mind off the sand
In full: First time for me, but had been warned about the beach finish, and the sand for the last 2K. What I did not expect was the deep sandy track for the 2K previous to that, and also how they mamanged to find so many hills on what is primarily a flat peninsula. Great fun though, and very well organised. Thanks

In short: A great trail race in beautiful Studland
In full: I revisted this race after a four year gap and surprised myself with beating my 2007 time by six and half minutes....!!
Lovely part of the world and the weather was great. Even had a cooling dip afterwards in the sea. Didn't see a medal though???

In short: A lovely jaunt around studland!
In full: A great event again this year, the weather was better than last year; Sun always a bonus in October. The event was better organised this year with a much improved medal at the finish. All in all a cracking event.

In short: 12km run on sand and gravel tracks in the beautiful setting of Studland.
In full: The first 3k is along the beach and a gradual climb of about 100m. After that it is mainly dirt and gravel tracks until around 9k when you hit soft sand for 1k or so. Then it's onto the compacted wet sand at the seashore for the last 2k.
