In short: My first 10 miler
In full: This was my first 10 miler and the furthest I'd run before! I found it a great place to start my longer distance running!

Easy to get your number! The course was scenic and pleasant! The marshalling was excellent as were the water stations every 5k! Plus I didn't come last which was a surprise :)

The reward was a bag of fruit (which I gave my mum as i dont eat fruit) and two ice creams (because I ended up with two vouchers)! The ice cream was a perfect ending to my run but that's just a personal opinion as I love bonds ice cream :)

The only down side was no medal, I do like a medal to prove I did it :)

Overall a thoroughly enjoyable run for my first 10 miler and I hope to do it next year but a little faster :)

In short: nice flat run ni the countryside
In full: well organised, unique goody bag at the end containing a melon, orange, apple, nectarine & kiwi fruit! plus free ice cream although you had to go to Bonds just up the road to get that so some people may have missed it. Only slight complaint was the marshall on the very last corner was stood on the near side rather than the far side of the road, so it was not obvious whether you had to turn down the road or go straight on (normally I just follow the person in front but things had thinned out by then so noone to follow!)

In full: very pretty village setting - living & training in the city lovely to get out into the peaceful & rural countryside of Elswick & surrounds.

well organised, friendly event with encouraging marshals around the course. well organised water stations with drink cap bottles - with a warm day these were very welcome.

A unique finishers goodie bag - fresh fruit & free ice cream from local ice cream makers - great reward after an energetic run.

maybe the event should start a bit earlier in mid summer from a potential hot weather perspective.

well done to all runners & the organiser & his helpers.

In short: Dull and unwelcoming race
In full: Not a fan of this race have to say. Came from Manchester to do htis race but I didn't find it very welcoming. Out in the countryside but all the narrow roads seemed to just blend into each other after a while, nothing to break it up. Lots of sharp bends on the roads that I didn't like.

At the end just got a bag a fruit - pretty eavy to carry home and didn't feel like much of a "reward" for completing a race. No one gave me ice cream at the end and I didn't see anyone with any or anywhere where you were meant to pick it up from - maybe they'd just ran out by the time I finished.

Compared to the recent and near by Freckleton half marathon this race was extremely poor.

In short: Uphill but never down?
In full: No killer hills but we seemed to be going up slight gradients all the way until the last mile. Liked the fruit and ice cream, better than another medal or T-shirt. A very good race, little traffic and a good road surface.

In short: Good race on rural lanes
In full: The race organizer should be very proud of himself and everyone involved with this event.

Everything went smoothly from start to the finish line, mile markers, happy marshals, water stations, goody bag of fruit at the end and the ice cream, what more do you need when you finish.

But can you turn the sun down it was a bit to hot for me.
