In short: Good atmosphere, but poor traffic management!
In full: I was really looking forward to this race as I had heard so many good things about it. Definately true to say that the atmosphere was great, particularly at the finish - liked the jelly babies at the water station and finish.
Bad traffic conditions before the race made me very late - the lane leading to the car park really could do with being one way on the day, or have a marshall directing the traffic. I got virtually to the car park entrance when I met a car coming the other way who point blank refused to reverse, (nice guy!),which meant that me and the 8 cars behind all had to reverse to the end of the road instead.
Only just made the start as a result and being at the back meant behing held up big time, or trying to weave round people and/or stinging nettles.
Thought I'd finally cracked my 38 minute PB, only to find out that the clock was wrong. ARGH!!!
Think I was just unlucky to have a bad race day, as generally this race gets a very good write-up.

and only just made the start

In short: Perfect way to spend Saturday afternoon
In full: My only concern about this is it may be getting too big, we were a bit late getting there because the lanes completely clogged up with traffic. Better signs ??

Heading for the start, its very difficult for a quicker runner to get near the front if late, I spent the first five hundred meters weaving all over the road and hedges.

But I loved it and did a pb despite the hold ups, will be back next year.

In full: Really enjoyed this course, atmosphere was fabulous and it tickled me that they served beer at the water stands!

In short: Very enjoyable event
In full: Nice course, good mixture of surfaces, nothing too demanding.
Good atmosphere before and after.
Excellent marshals and PA announcer - thank you.
The technical fault with the time clock - these things happen. Posting the correction on the website so promptly helped a lot.
Narrow country lanes if you are drivng - arrive early to avoid the queues.
The red jelly babies were my favourites.

In full: I enjoyed the run immensely despite doing a poor time. However i have just started running again due to prolonged injury problems so it was a great race fir me to ease my way back into competetive races. I thought the setting & atmosphere were excellent. I would definitely recommend the Harvel 5 to anybody. Ian Chapman

In short: Great race for Supporters too!
In full: I'm commenting as a supporter, rather than a runner for this one. My wife is a regular runner and racer and from time to time I take the kids along to watch. Some races are better than others for this, but this one was just great. Loads of stuff to do while the runners were off doing their thing, relatively short race so within 25 mins if the start there were people to cheer across the line. Lovely weather, ice cream for the kids, beer tent for me :) Will be more than happy to go and support again next year
