In short: Smooth organisation, good vfm, high potential race. In full: Great 10k. Challenging to do three laps but on a slightly cooler day would be PB potential. Not totally flat but interesting to use a race track and choose the lines. I wonder if they could take a leaf out of London and trace a blue line through the course. Would be helpful. Goody bag dropped down in estimation and would still prefer a medal to a t-shirt but still good VFM. Sorry that the names of runners pre-entered not on numbers this time. That was a nice touch. Great to see results up so quickly after the event. Parking good. Atmosphere good. Could have done with more water/water marshalls at the end. Massage table (fre) a bonus this time too. In short: re: not bad - could do better In full: Definate PB Course. I slashed 1min 47 secs of my previous best ( swansea 10k) and I even strained my calf at the 5k mark! Organisation wasnt great. Long wait to get number and then a bizarre walk following the organiser up to the start point followed by a few minutes wait which started to let the cold set in . Also wasnt sure about the organiser chalking the finish line as we watched on!
Freindly enough and good intentions. The course itself was bland but who cares if you can get a PB. Nice goody bag and mug although I always prefer a medal! ( just my preference). I did the pembrey run last week and it had a bigger event feel to it. With some tweaks this could be good. Possibly see you next year. Date of review: November 26, 2006

In short: I so enjoyed running a PB, well worth the trip! In full: I could see the check-in desk was hectic but I was lucky and had sent in a SAE for my number to be posted to me! I was hoping for a PB and sailed around, going a bit too fast at first but the brisk winds slowed me down on the back straight! A great race and the drink station and photographers were a welcomed distraction from the lap counting- see you next year! Date of review: November 26, 2006

In short: Bit boring, doing 3 laps but definite PB potential & no mud! In full: 3 laps of Castle Combe circuit wouldn't be everybody's cup of tea, but there are no poy holes, you know exactly what's coming next and you can't get lost! Organisation around the entries desk was chaotic to say the least, but instead of grumbling, I just pitched in and helped. The start was delayed by 30 mins as a result but the race itself was fine and there was even a drinks station. Some people thought it was short as there were lots of PBs but I wore my sat nav and, if anything, it was a few metres too long so those PBs are genuine! Got a goody bag ans there was a cafe on site doing hot food & drinks. Everybody was very sociable & there were a lot of 'new'runners so not at all elitist which was great. Well done - I hope there's one next year, but get your entry system sorted! Date of review: November 26, 2006
