In short: Should be a regular in any runner's calendar! In full: OK, the reason I'm reviewing this so late was that the debacle of the Bham HM yesterday has made me appreciate just how fab the Kenilworth HM is and how the organisers did a fab job.
Undulating course, with one nasty hill at end, through beautiful countryside. Loads of encouraging marshalls and well placed water stops.
Had been concerned re lack of chip timing, but as it is so small (700 runners) you cross the line pretty quickly so time is fairly accurate.
Fab tech t-shirt in goody bag. It is a personal choice, but I know I'll get more use out of this than a medal I stuff in the drawer!!
I have to praise Kenilworth Runners for putting on a fab race and for great organisation. Will definitely be back next year - thanks! Date of review: October 25, 2010
In short: Fantastic organisation as always. In full: A really well managed race. Friendly atmosphere with very supportive marshalls. Will definitely do it again next year. Great t-shirt too. Date of review: September 30, 2010
In short: Dr Jeckyl and Mr Hyde? In full: This was my favourite race but i have to say i am now debating on whether to run it again. I was one of the runners who attended to the chap who passed away and some of the comments from fellow runners are understandable i suppose as they did not see the incident and were not involved in trying to get help; then none of the organisers actually meant any harm nor any of the volunteers, its just that the organisers seemed unprepared for this type of incident. I 'll reiterate what a previous runner has said and that is that there was neither a sense of urgency nor competence and when St Johns did eventually arrive they were like rabbits caught in the headlights and took forever to do anything. Moreover, the marshalls seemingly did nothing to help and continued to let cars through knowing full well two people were down and ill. That is the most basic thing they got wrong. I've written to the orgainisers with my thoughts but i shall never get over looking into his eyes and seeing his life slip away- if St Johns had got there sooner (they were only yards away) and had known what they were doing then perhaps Matt would still be with us- we shall never know. My feelings go out to his friends and family. Until i receive assurances from the organisers that they have resolved these safety and organisational issues then i regret that i wont be running this race again. I am dissapointed, this race is better than that! Stuart Hambling Date of review: September 28, 2010

In short: nice race lacking in some essentials..... In full: Nice race in very scenic conditions but, in my opinion, I think it could do with some improvents, ie chip timing should be standard, (the bottle neck at the begining caused by the speed bumps hampers PB's) and the results of the race have still not been posted? lots of water stations but bottled water would have been nice. also I would prefer a nice medal rather than a nice t-shirt. Overall a well organised and friendly race. Cakes at the end were tasty too :-) Date of review: September 27, 2010
