In full: This was my first half marathon and I think it was a good course for someone who has not run one before. The route was flat and the course organisers were very friendly and encouraging! They looked up your name on a list and called it out as you ran past which made me smile despite the pain!Great atmosphere. Date of review: September 22, 2013
In full: The home made flapjacks, the drinks, the carefully packed post-race snack pack made it seem like a race your mum would have organised and crowd support was fantastic and friendly. Date of review: September 16, 2013
In short: Great value well organised and friendly race, In full: A completely flat course with lots of interesting scenery. 6 laps with water stations twice per lap. The staff were upbeat and friendly with lots of encouragement throughout. It was a great race that I hope to run again next year and I would warmly recommend it to anyone. In short: Fab, fun, friendly. In full: Great race, super friendly marshals encouraging you by name as you run. Real fun warm up at the start. Car free course which does alternate between field, canal side and wood side path. Great goody bag at the end including sweatshop vouchers, bagel jam and lolly. I've seen some negative stuff about this event on this website, but I have to say if all the above doesn't cheer you up then there's something wrong with you Date of review: September 14, 2013
In short: An excellent event In full: It’s an excellent location with good facilities, well organised, lovely lively marshals, all the helpers were so kind and friendly and the packed lunch in the goodie bags was an inspired idea!!
I was a bit concerned about 6 laps, but actually ticking off 6 laps was "easier" and less monotonous than 13 miles. Date of review: September 14, 2013
In short: Ran the lap before the race then changed the mind to take it as a race because of the tricky course In full: I was visiting from Dublin and found this race, so decided to run. I heard from organisers that it was a PB course but I strongly disagree due to many reasons, i.e many sharp turns which makes it harder to pick the pace again suddenly, change of terrain quite often, walkers/cyclists/dogs/many other obstacles (I got tripped by a dog crossing sharply across), football players interruption and a few other things. But organisers did their best that they could do. Overall starting and finish area was friendly, also throughout the course it was a good atmosphere when marshals were cheering us by calling our names with big smile on their faces. Thanks to those friendly people serving at water stations. I only took it as part of my training and made it 23 plus miles that day, including this half marathon Date of review: September 13, 2013
