In short: Running those dreadful hills were no laughing matter!
In full: Running jog Shop 20 is a tough challenging race to get you heart really pumping hard.

This 20 miles race is not easy and your quads will hurt you every inch of the way!

I must say those massive slow cows during the race did get in the way but on the udder hand it could be much worst it could be bulls roaming those fields!
The hills were long and torturous which was quite unpleasant for my legs.
The beautiful views did help to numb the pain.

The Marshals were great and very supportive I could not fault any of them. En route there were no miles markers so when I thought I ran
5 miles it was only 3 miles. Around 17 and a half miles I got myself completely lost due to few marshals in the last few miles, thus I was unable to find the “tunnel”. However Thanks to few helpful locals I manage to get myself back on course but took another wrong turning about ¾ mile near the finish but I managed to find the finish.

Despite being lost near the end of the race I still rate this race highly and I believe it has very great value for your money.

There should have had one more water station. Maybe in future you could have one Marshal standing by the tunnel and another two Marshals around the last two miles.

Ooh Sam (The Race Oganiser), you should have gone to Specsavers because I should have been down as Bromley Veteran Athletics Club.

I really hope I am off next year to run this race again.

In short: Great views & hideous climbs
In full: I now fear 'The Big W' and the course is very tough. However the marshalls along the whole course were very friendly and encouraging. The views were also great.

In short: Bring Your A-Game
In full: I absolutely loved this challenging race...however this is not the race to "find out" whether you can run 20 miles or rather you can overcome hills...

While there are always people who can just show up and do well, I strongly recommend that you do at least 4 weeks of hill work and 2 long runs (14+ miles) before doing this race...

You hill work can be as simple as making sure 1 or 2 of your weekly runs incorporates a few hills...

For those that are interested..check out my garmin link for a bit of perspective..

don't laugh at my time please!!

In short: Fantastic autumn long-distance with superb views over the South Downs to distract from the hwind and harsh climbs/falls.

In short: Blimming hard but great scenery
In full: Great race. Loved all the hills - it was definitely the wind that killed me. Good training for an end of year trail marathon or ultra.

In short: Great prep for Beachy Head
In full: A lovely but very challenging race, well organised with some nice touches, encouraging marshalls which really helped! Beautiful (if slightly warm) weather made the most of the stunning scenery so it wasn't just the hills that were breathtaking! Will be back no doubt!

In short: A course better suited to goats than road runners. Thoroughly enjoyed though!
