In short: Tough hills but satisfying, great scenery. In full: This was my first 10mile race, I knew it was going to be tough (having read previous race reviews) and the first 5.5miles didn't disappoint! Overall the race is very challenging but the lovely villages and scenery are worth it. It was very well organised with very friendly and encouraging marshalls. It was just a shame the fog didn't clear as the longer range views would have been great. Date of review: September 1, 2008
In short: Don't Let The Hills Put You Off In full: Excellent organisation and encouraging Marshalls. The first 3 miles aren't the easiest but after than its pretty much downhill till mile 8 and your nearly finished then right.
Great race, well done to the organisers and i will be back again next year. Date of review: September 1, 2008
In short: Hard but good In full: A course that needs respect for the first few miles that include some good hard climes. The downhiil sections go through some nice senery and villages. Overall a very well organised and freindly run. Date of review: September 1, 2008
In short: Loved the downhill sprints In full: Downhill, reached speeds I didnt know possible - great fun!!! Feeling it today though! Not very fond of the last uphill mile.. but great marshalls all the way round kept me 'fresh as a daisy' (ha ha) Date of review: September 1, 2008
In short: Tough hilly course, but well organised. In full: First 3 to 4 miles are undulating with some "challenging" hills! You are then rewarded with a fast downhill return, but watch for the final uphill kick before the end. Well organised event, with friendly & encouraging marshalls along the whole of the course. The cooler temperature and lack of wind made for good running conditions. Not a PB course, but hey, just enjoy the atmosphere and soak up those views! Date of review: September 1, 2008
