In short: PB potential on a lovely course but the headwind killed me In full: A lovely sunny morning with a nice amount of competitors which were a nice mix of club and fun runners. Running on country roads kept me interested all the way around. I was heading for a PB sub 2hr at 10 miles then the combination of that headwind and leg cramp really tested me. Great encouragement from all parties heading in and plenty of water, cereal bars and bananas for you at the end. If I have one minor gripe it is drinking from plastic cups as I found it impossible to drink on the move without snorting water up my nose!!! Date of review: June 3, 2011
In short: First HM - would do this on again. In full: Most reviews have pretty summed this one up. Great organisation and friendly atmosphere. Wind did me in in last couple of miles though but that is Malvern for you! Date of review: June 1, 2011
In short: My first HM and loved it! In full: As this was my first HM, I can't really give an accurate PB potential guide. Weather was great for most of the race but a head wind slowed up the last 3 miles.
Organisation was spot on with a great medal, drinks, fruit bars and bananas being handed out at the finish line.
In short: Happy Birthday to me, Happy Birthday to me, my legs are feeling tired In full: Thank you, thank you and thank you again to all the marshalls, supporters and runners on the day for getting me around. Felt good up to 7 miles then things started to get tough for me the last 6 and struggled the last 2 miles. No fault of the course just night before caught up with (camping, 6 mile walk and stomach problems not good preparation for a race). It was my birthday and also my 108th half so will put this in my top 10 for it's organisation, unique medal, value for money, chip timing on race number and not having to tie on to your trainers, challenging and mostly traffic free scenic course, loads of fruit bars, water and loads of bananas. Great marshalling and Organisation and support from all including those running the race. The course not as hilly as I expected and I will be back if anything and I'll stay in a Bed and Breakfast and enjoy the day even more and beat my time which I know I was capable of doing Thanks again from 'Yannon's Dad' See you in 2012 Date of review: May 31, 2011
In short: Brilliantly Organised and Very Friendly! In full: This was my second half marathon so I do not have much to compare it to. The organisation and atmosphere were fantastic. The running conditions were a little windy, so that, and my dip in training left me suffering on the last three miles. The section around Upton was great with lots of spectators cheering us on. The roads not being closed was the only downside but the drivers were very patient and considerate. Plus, it allowed our lovely support team to follow us and cheer at various sections on the course. All in all, a great run and I would recommended it to anybody. I will be back next year! Thank you. Date of review: May 31, 2011
In short: Wonderful cause, wonderful organization, great for fun runners, but a bit too much traffic In full: Thank you to everyone involved in the organization, marshalling, support, and general excellence of the race. There was a nice mix of faster and fun runners. The second half had a lot more traffic than I would normally like, although all of the drivers were incredibly tolerant of the hundreds of runners in their way. Date of review: May 30, 2011
In short: Another great triple run! In full: My fourth outing at Malvern, and it never dissappoints! Once again, a wonderful race, with great support along the route, friendly marshalls and a lovely course. Some strong winds from mile 10-13 made for a slower finish than I had hoped for, but can't be faulted. Add to this a top medal presented by the lovely Miss Worcester, and you've got the makings of a great race! Date of review: May 30, 2011
In short: Another top Malvern Half In full: Perfectly organised as I've come to expect. Well supported along the route by the marshalls and supporters. A great run, and I'm already looking forward to 2012! Date of review: May 30, 2011
In short: great scenery , friiendly atmosphere In full: Beautiful course, potentially quick but the very strong wind over the last 5 miles made it challenging. Will definitely do it again next year if I'm fit. Date of review: May 30, 2011
