In short: Running Out Over the Bridge couldn't see the shoreline in the mist ......Ran Back in Glourious Sunshine ! In full: A memorable day ......it's like Running the Tyne Bridge ......only longer. Wet & Horrible at the start, which was somewhat chaotic and delayed, which didn't help as we were all soaked to the skin ......16 minute delay. Thereafter a Good Run, well marshalled & some fantastic support from the good people of Humberside, particularly "across the water". Disagree with the comments made about medals on here .....much prefer a decent Technical T Shirt, which we got, rather than just another medal to sit gathering dust. This Run would be spectacular on a glorious Summers Day ! Date of review: July 15, 2014
In short: Unique chance to run across the Humber Bridge In full: I travelled over from Liverpool for this race as the chance to run over the Humber Bridge was a chance I could not refuse. It was a very very wet day but all the runners were chatty and making a joke of it all. The race was late starting due to the weather but seems fair due to circumstances. The route was exactly what I wanted, some flat and lots of up and downs. The hill at 9 miles (Gravel Pit Road) was a real challenge and quite fun in its own perverse way. The last hill going back onto the bridge was a killer and I found I really had to dig deep. There were some lovely supporters out despite the wet weather. The finish line had a lovely atmosphere and the hill down to it was appreciated.
What really annoyed me and the other runners was the lack of medals at the finish line. I dont care about gift bags or t-shirts but I always associate athletic achievements with medals and to finish a half marathon and not be rewarded with a medal broke all the rules of organised and competitive running for me. I feel especially upset for the poor first timers who can not mark their achievelement with the medal they deserve.
I really enjoyed the race and the atmosphere and loved running over the Humber Bridge. Very very bitter at not having a medal to mark the event. Date of review: July 13, 2014

In short: Wonderful chance to run over the Humber Bridge but wind direction makes that a challenge In full: I've ran this twice now and the organisation, route, marshalls, support etc is all very good.
The weather conditions have a big affect on the bridge crossing which all add to the excitement of running over it, twice :) Date of review: June 30, 2014
