In short: Worth the pain!
In full: This was my first Endurancelife race but it definitely won't be my last even though it was by far the toughest half I've ever run and I took well over an hour longer than my pb! But yes I did stand for a while on top of the hills to soak in the amazing views and yes I did take time in the eco challenge side of the event and gathered up rubbish from the beach on the way back to the finish. Which made it pretty special. The organisation was superb. Thanks for all the hills, mud, stiles, sheep, rocks, cliffs, brambles, pebbles, sand......

In short: Hilly, muddy and generally fantastic
In full: I wasn't sure how hard it was going to be because I didn't see the course elevation for the marathon until the morning of the race... It was hard!
At about halfway I thought I'd had it (especially after a mile of loose pebbles which sapped the energy from my body), but the glorious countryside and friendliness of the other runners and all the marshals kept me going.

The cost for one race is quite steep (less if you enter more), but given the formidable organisation I can understand why!

Well worth the money, I'll probably sign up for a couple more next year.

In short: Breathtaking - hardest marathon I've completed to date. Loved it.
In full: Stunning scenery, friendly marshals, very well organised. I've seen so much mud in life and boy those beach sections were tough. I'll definitely be back and look forward to the rest of the series.

In short: Aarrgghh !!
In full: My admiration and respect for anyone who ran the marathon has gone up several notches.

I 'only' did the half and was an hour outside my PB, but when you have such stunning scenary it was well worth it.

Would love to be able to afford to do all 7 Half's and be able to do all 7 Marathons.

Top Notch.

In short: Cornwall Coastal Marathon
In full: Once again a fantastic event at a fantastic location. I upgraded to marathon for this one and it was worth it. Weather was kind so terrain was firm (in most parts). This coastal path is breathtaking but I spent most of my time looking at my feet jumping from boulder to boulder. First half was tough but fun - second half was much easier going. As ever I think the markers could have been better in places - I saw one group of runners who scaled a 2-300 foot hill which you were supposed to just go around! I went off course a couple of times (got called back) and saw many others do the same. It becomes an issue when you find yourself on your own (which happens a lot when there are less than 70 runners). I love these runs - really challenging, great scenery and run by a good bunch. Recommended to all. Top marks for the chilli as well!!!
