In full: The wind made it tough going.

Maybe a T-Shirt or a mars bar with the medals would have been nice.

In short: At least it wasn't raining..............
In full: A decent enough event but little things let it down.

The Good: Marshalls extremely friendly and fellow runners were supportive

The Bad: I'm a 'recreational' runner, and there weren't many of us in this event as it is full of club runners. No problem as everyone was nice enough, but having only 1 water station after 5 miles is just not enough for people of my ability. I also managed to lose my number after 4.5 miles due to the wind blowing it off, despite it being pinned to my shirt. When I crossed the line at the end I was told by the gumpy git recording the numbers that I was liable to being disqualified. Whilst I appreciate there are rules, being told off like a naughty school child for something that was a freak accident hardly improves one's mood after a hard 10 mile slog. Finally, would rather have had a mars bar than that cheap little medal at the finish. Again, more water would have been nice

In short: Well marshalled, signed route, good facilities, very flat course, but exposed to coastal weather & muddy in one section
In full: First time on this new course. Very flat, but twisty course and exposed on long sections along the coast, which meant for a bit of a slog in places when the wind 'kicked in'. Otherwise, this could easily be a PB course. Just don't expect too much with coastal weather in Winter! If you want guarantee of 10 miles PB, then try Maidenhead 10.

Great Marshalling and very supportive & friendly. Well signed route and enough drinks en-route. Nice facilities at start and finish. Naff medal though. Reasonably priced entry and nice range of category prizes.

Be aware that with only one main road on and off the island it can get congested leaving the island after the race.

Just one minor suggestion to the organisers: please can you use an alternative to handing out bottled water on the course as this is a tremendous waste of water just for a few sips. Not a complaint, just thinking of the environment and terrible wastage of a precious commodity.

Thanks to all the organisers, helpers and various other people for putting on the event. Much appreciated.

In short: Fun and Flat for 10 miles
In full: For my first 10 mile race this was good. Organisation was as good as any other race i've done - lots of marshalls and spectators cheering you on. The wind in the last couple of miles wasn't fun but that's hardly the organisers fault!! Good views around the island and really flat. Nice medal

In short: Decent race but let itself down at the end
In full: Despite the weather (which simply cannot be helped) this was a decent race. Organsation was good, it ran smoothly, Marshals were splendid. What a shame it let itself down badly at the end.
Whilst some of us waited for the back markers - to encourage them in - those beginner runners, who had been out (of course) longer than others, to cheer and encourage them in....the finish area was dismantled before they were even in sight.
What the organisers need to remember is that it is these grass root runners who add to the numbers to pay into the club funds.
Would it have hurt to have kept the finish area in place an extra 10 minutes? No? Then maybe think and act on this next year.
Take a lesson from Gosport Half Marathon's books of last week, where the tail runners received more of a cheer and encouragement from the organisers and announcers.
Such a small but hugely important detail Havant AC if you want to encourage running.

In short: Fast and flat.
In full: I managed to knock 4 mins of my summer 10 mile pb so good course pb hunters. Windy in patches but you don't seem to spend too long going in one direction the wind is soon behind you again.
