In short: The name says it all... In full: This is a race that I do most years. The course has changed; the start is now off-road and the early bottle neck does create issues when you are all trying to get through the gate at once. But the early uphill is fun. The return of the lakes is a killer. Its mud, mud and more mud.
The marshalls were great, and there was one who was always smiling. More distance markers would have been appreciated.
I loved it and will be back again. Just please don't put the price again. Date of review: February 3, 2013
In short: Postponed due to snow In full: It's hard to give a fair review because snow caused a postponement. Although e-mails were sent the day before, some of us who travelled a long way didn't receive them and neither did some of the locals. The organiser arrived to say that on Satruday, the back roads were full of snow and he didn't think that he could have safely delivered the marsals around the course. However, the course markers had been put out and the 20 or so who had arrived went for a social jog around the course. Ironically the waether was perfect, warmer, dry and the lying snow soft and crunchy underfoot although if the race had gone ahead with a full field, the ground would probably have been very churned up. In some ways a disappointing day but met some great people and had an enjoyable run. Certainly looks worth doing properly. Date of review: February 6, 2012
