In short: Picturesque friendly event that’s well organised and a good warm-up for the London Triathlon
In full: I did this Duathlon as a warm up for the London Triathlon. There was a celebrity start from Jon Tickle and a warm welcome from the Swallowfield villagers. As Duathletes start the run with the 10K runners, the streets are lined with people clapping and cheering giving a lovely atmosphere. Then you head out into narrow lanes with scenic views, before returning to the village to head out on the bike course, which is mostly flat and feels pretty fast. The run finishes with your name being announced, a nice touch for a small event like this, and you get a weighty medal at the end of it all. I found it a great way to spend a September Sunday morning.

In short: Great event and well organised!
In full: I did this event the week after the London duathlon and it was perfect! I was amazed it was first time they have put this on as the organisation, check in, marshalling and signposting was feast rate! Nothing to fault and only being 30mins from home I hope they put more on! Only slight thing that could be noted was some of the marshals on the last few K of last run could be a bit more supportive! I know they are there probably working for free, but when you are busting a gut and they are stood there anyway, a little clap or word of encouragement really does help- 80% were great tho- thanks again!!

In short: Really enjoyed the race. Capped at 36 entrants as the first time they have done it but could easliy up the limit. I am trying to get into doing triathlons and as not a swimmer a great way to begin.
