In short: Sunny for the race 3 times out of 4 now for me... In full: Ok so a PB is unlikely - but how many races finish across a scenic beach ? And the addition of HRH dropping in in his Seaking was a nice touch.
Great support from the community and great marshalling and spectators. We always make a day of it - next time we'll do the weekend. Date of review: June 19, 2013
In full: I have complained in a previous review about the price of this years race. Today i completed bver first Ellesmere Port Ten K. The cost of this race was £15, and for that i recieved a very good quality medal, a superb technical t-shirt and a nice goody bag! The organisers of the Abersoch Ten K need to take note, that it can all be done for a good (fair) price! Date of review: June 16, 2013
In full: Ok, i wrote a review just after running this ten k with regard to the overpricing of this race. Today i have just completed the first Ellesmere Port Ten k. It was a very well organised race, as is the Abersoch ten k race. However the Ellesmere Port Ten K race today was £15 to enter, and for that sum i recieved a very high quality medal, a very good technical t-shirt and a goody bag!! Abersoch Ten K organisers may just price themselves out of the market! Lower price next year please!! Date of review: June 16, 2013
In short: Lovely race spoilt by price. In full: Ran this event for the second time, really nice course, challenging without being silly and what stunning views! Overall it's well organised - BUT £19? Come on! Especially since this year you didn't post race packs and withdrew the t-shirt! Despite this being a local event, if they can't offer better value next year I might do Bangor instead.
In short: A good race but expensive! In full: Did anybody get a t-shirt or did i miss out on that? I did not see any being given out. To be honest for the price i would expect one to be included, and that leads me on to my biggest gripe with this race, the price! The Liverpool Half Marathon is 'only' £29! I am not quite sure why this race has to be so expensive! The medal was not as nice as in the previous 3 years either, looks a bit tacky compared to the medals given out in previous years. This is an enjoyable race with some nice views, just please bring down the price a bit! Another water station would be nice too! Date of review: June 2, 2013
In short: Ridiculously expensive! In full: Ran this race for the third time today and really enjoyed it. Weather amazing, scenery breathtaking and finishing with a mile along the beach adds a challenge too. HOWEVER the entry fee of £19 is crazy, considering all you get is a medal (pretty tacky this year compared to previous years) a drink a banana and a granola bar. No T shirt, no goody bag, no nothing else. I am local and run this route regularly so while the route is truly amazing, I can run it any time for free. I will probably do it again next year because it is a great course, but please please pleasebring the prices down! Date of review: June 1, 2013
