In short: Great race - one of my favourites In full: This was the 3rd time I'd done the Hook 6, last year I was injured and the year before I did the 10 mile option. I was injured this year too, but managed to get round in a not-too-shabby time.
Nice medal (it would be nice if they differentiated between the 2.5, 6 and 10, maybe they could do so on the ribbon) and generally great organisation.
The only thing I would say is that it would help if they briefed the fun runners and walkers to ensure that they keep left (or right) as they approach the finish, as it is difficult for 6 and 10 milers to get past them at times - I had to shout "coming through" or "excuse me" a few times when I was exhausted.
A great community event - maybe the Green Park 10k could avoid clashing with it in future so I can do both events in another year! Date of review: May 17, 2015
In short: Excellent well-organised event and speedy circuit In full: Still a favourite. Great organisation. Decent food stalls at end. Love the course. A few small hills in the first half. Fast last 5m. Decent support. Date of review: May 19, 2014
In short: My first time; I'll definitely be back for more! In full: Great organisation led to a great run. My only gripe would be that I really struggled due to the weather - running in direct sun is not my favourite! - but that was no fault of the organisers!
Nice route, a mix of country lanes and busier roads made the scenery enjoyable and was lovely to see so many supporters throughout the course, some of which I'm sure were local residents.
The marshals were particularly encouraging, especially the woman just after the seven mile marker! I'll be back next year, I just hope it's a slightly cooler day! Date of review: May 19, 2014
In short: Great 10 miler and impeccable organisation In full: First time doing this race and very impressed with the attention to detail, faultless organisation and decent route through numerous small villages. More or less flat so would be a PB course if it hadn't been so hot. Date of review: May 18, 2014
In short: Lovely sunny run but hard today in the heat In full: A brilliantly organised and friendly race.
Shame about the runners with head phones and ear pieces who couldn't hear the emergency services trying to get through. Even one had the nerve to moan at a cyclist for getting on the kerb purely because he could hear the ambulance..
In full: A hot day,but a well organised event with nice marshal's and locals. have run this race before and it is still has a nice atmosphere and an easy going feel to the whole event. Also i bought some seville orange & ginger marmalade from the Hook allotment association stall, i recomend this event & the marmalade. Date of review: May 18, 2014
In short: A nice run in the countryside In full: Good support around the course, marshalls were great. Chip timing needs to be introduced though. Nice and challenging mildly, ran well, missed pb by 25 secs so a bit gutted. Date of review: May 20, 2013
