In short: Great little race, shame not more participants In full: I think this might be the smallest race I've ever done. There were 20 ladies running of all abilities from 20 minutes to 40 minutes. It takes place in a small country park close to Heathrow and alongside the M25 and BA's HQ. Planes go overhead every minute or so.
Trail shoes are probably a good idea as it's all off-road but road shoes would be ok if it's not been raining beforehand.
You meet in a car park (there are toilets available). The start and finish is a chalk line on the path. The race was well marshaled and marked. A bit twisty and a few small hills to keep you busy but what goes up must come down.
At the end we were presented with a large medal and a carnation. Thank you to the marshals and officials who stood out in the pouring rain, and the results were delivered by email this morning, very efficient. A great little race - definitely deserves far more participants. Date of review: May 7, 2015
In short: Great low-key and friendly race In full: This was my first time here and it's a real find - right next to Heathrow but set in beautiful parkland. A little undulating, but nothing too hard. Running with Terminal 5 in your sightline is pretty special! The organisation was really great - lots of friendly marshalls, all hazards marked clearly, and water, squash, a medal and roses at the end. More people should do this race! Thanks to the organisers and marshalls. Date of review: May 15, 2014
In short: Superb organisation In full: This is such an excellent little race and lots of gold stars are due to its excellent organisers, marshals and crew. Great care had been taken to fully mark out the course, as there are lots of tricky twists and turns, and in addition there were marshals at all corners - not only guiding the way but cheerily providing lots of much-needed encouragement and inspiration! Very well done to all involved, and thank you for a lovely race! Date of review: May 9, 2013
In short: A hidden treasure of an event In full: Theres nothing at heathrow I hear you say...well actually there is! Hidden under the planes and in amoungst the industry there is a rather special little piece of parkland where this event is held. A very small low key event but perfect for those new to racing. They had a slight hiccup with the front runners sending them on a extra little loop however this was single human error and should not overshadow the huges efforts and otherwise perfect organisation that was apparent. A lovely rose and medal for everyone that entered and prizes for the winners. There was even orange squash and water at the end despite it being only a 5k event. Well worth the trip and a wonderful way to end a day at work. Date of review: May 10, 2012
In short: Delightful In full: The organisation was exceptional. You were made to feel very special. We were given a pink rose at the finish and chocolate. Some of us were lucky enough to win M&S vouchers and wine. The marshalls cheered you on all around the course, this was well marked and quite pretty, you would never have guessed Heathrow Airport is a stones throw away. Back next year with more running friends. Date of review: April 15, 2010
In short: A brilliant, friendly race In full: This race is gorgeous. The route is twisty and undulating, along pleasant tracks by sparkling rivers. There is ample parking, there are loads of friendly marshalls, there are medals, drinks and KitKats at the end, and a rose for every runner. Date of review: April 15, 2010
In short: St Georges Day - a fitting celebration! In full: Earlier in the year than 2007 but still a glorious eve of running, they caught the sun in a really pretty early eve race of hills and lakes. Superb marshalls, professional timings and all finishers presented with red roses and medals, this race would put many larger races to shame with its smooth and friendly organisation. Traffic still stationary on M4 though! We will be back next year! Thanks BA! Date of review: April 29, 2008
